The Rubik's cube is a 3-D challenging mechanical puzzle invented in 1974 by a Hungarian sculptur and professor of architecture, Erno Rubik. It was originally called the "Magic Cube" and was licensed by Rubik to be sold by Ideal Toy Corporations in 1980. Later on, he won the German Game of the Year special award for the best puzzle of that specific year. As of 2009, over 350 million cubes were sold! That makes it the world's top selling puzzle game ever. People consider it as the best-selling toy to exist.
In a classic or original Rubik's Cube, each of the six faces contains nice stickers, each being a different solid color. To solve the puzzle, all the faces must return to consisting on only one color. Similar puzzles are being produced with a numerous amount of stickers, but not all of them are being produced by Rubik.
